I Don't Like the Oily Taste! Try a high lignin oil and shake well before use. To me it tastes like hazel nuts. Of course if it tastes rancid or really bad then it probably is and you shouldn't use it. There are a number of things you can try to make the oil more palatable.
Try taking your oil and immediately follow it with a glass of juice, then eat cottage cheese.
Mix oil, cottage cheese, pineapple and a bit of honey in a dish; let sit for 15 minutes and eat. You should taste no oil.
Mix oil, cheese and ice cream in a blender. Add some chocolate syrup or fruit and blend. Makes a really good milk shake. If your weight conscious substitute a can of Ultra Slim fast instead of the goodies. One man wrote to us and said he blends the oil and cheese with buttermilk and finds it quite tasty.
The following is from an email we received recently. Though a bit more involved, this is an excellent drink indeed!
Cherry Power Smoothie
1/2 cup grape juice
1/2 cup cherry juice (opt)
1 1/2 cups frozen, dark cherries
1 banana, cut up
1 cup plain, nonfat yogurt
1/2 cup cottage cheese
1/4 cup ground flax seed
2 tbl raw wheat germ
2-4 tbl flax seed oil
1-2 tbl honey
Put everything in a blender, blend 2 minutes. Makes 2 tall glasses. This comes together in a matter of minutes and is great for lunch.
